Sometimes moving forward begins by returning to where you came from.
KAIA grew from a return to origin: a reconnection with land, people, knowledge and a different way of thinking about value, development and possibility.
That return met journeys already shaped over years in Maués, regenerative agriculture, processing and Amazonian biodiversity.
Today, KAIA brings those journeys together to connect remarkable ingredients, knowledge at origin and product innovation with new possibilities around the world.
PEOPLE & ORIGIN
KAIA may be new. The journeys behind it are not.
Different paths. Shared curiosity. One direction.
GRAZIELLA
INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS, MARKET DEVELOPMENT & OPERATIONS
Graziella connects origin and innovation with international markets, bringing experience in operations, supply chain, procurement, international trade and business development while shaping KAIA’s commercial strategy and purpose.
BRUNO
AMAZONIAN BIODIVERSITY, REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE & INGREDIENT INNOVATION
Bruno explores how distinctive Amazonian fruits and botanicals, including ingredients valued for their nutritional and sensory profiles, can be grown, preserved and transformed for new markets. His work connects regenerative and syntropic agriculture with technologies such as freeze-drying and powder development, creating stable, transportable ingredient formats for food, beverage, nutrition, wellness and personal-care applications.
LUCA
ORIGIN, PROCESSING & PRODUCT INNOVATION
After more than two decades in Maués, Luca combines deep relationships at origin with a technical and experimental mindset. His work reaches beyond guaraná into chocolate, oils and new applications, continually exploring how processing, technology and product development can unlock new possibilities for Amazonian ingredients.
Together, these different journeys are helping shape what KAIA can become.
WHAT GUIDES US
STAY CLOSE TO ORIGIN.
We begin with the people, place, knowledge and processes that give an ingredient its identity.
LEAD WITH RESPECT.
We listen, build relationships over time and recognize the knowledge carried by people and places at origin.
LET PROOF SUPPORT THE STORY.
Traceability, documentation and technical understanding give substance to what we share.
STAY CURIOUS.
We value science, traditional knowledge and experimentation while staying clear about what is known and what is still being explored.
CREATE VALUE IN BOTH DIRECTIONS.
We want international opportunity to strengthen relationships, capability, innovation and possibilities closer to origin.
BUILD FOR THE LONG TERM.
We believe trust, quality and meaningful partnerships are built over time.
A RETURN THAT BECAME A BEGINNING
For nearly twenty years, Graziella’s life was defined by work, building businesses, managing people, solving problems and continually moving forward.
Then she returned to Brazil.
What began as a return home became something deeper: a reconnection with the land, with people, with different ways of living and understanding nature, and ultimately with herself.
Time spent closer to the Amazon, and encounters with Indigenous knowledge, local traditions and people whose lives remain deeply connected to the land, began to reshape the way she thought about business, value and development.
That experience led Graziella to reconsider what business could achieve and became the foundation for three questions that would later shape KAIA:
What if business could connect worlds without erasing what makes either one distinct?
What if extraordinary ingredients could reach international markets while carrying more of their origin with them?
What if innovation could create value not only from the Amazon, but increasingly within it?
KAIA grew from those questions, from a desire to connect origin, knowledge and innovation, and to build bridges between people, ingredients, ideas and markets without losing sight of where the story began.
DIFFERENT JOURNEYS. ONE DIRECTION.
The story behind KAIA began long before the company had a name.
In Maués, Luca’s relationship with the region began more than two decades ago. What started through life in the community and agriculture evolved into cultivation, processing and close relationships with producers. Guaraná became an important part of that journey, while Luca’s technical curiosity continued into chocolate, oils, processing methods and new product applications.
Elsewhere in the Amazon, Bruno’s path moved increasingly toward regenerative and syntropic agriculture and a broader exploration of Amazonian biodiversity. Through preservation and processing technologies such as freeze-drying and powder development, he has explored how highly perishable ingredients can become stable, practical formats for new applications.
THE JOURNEYS CONNECT
As Graziella spent more time in Brazil, conversations and relationships began bringing together worlds that had previously been separate.
KAIA took shape where Luca’s experience in Maués, Bruno’s work with regenerative agriculture and Amazonian biodiversity, and Graziella’s background in international business, operations, procurement, supply chain and market development came together.
KAIA became a bridge between origin and market, knowledge and new applications, Brazil and Canada, and what an ingredient has always been and what it might become.
KAIA wants international market access to create value that can also travel toward origin through stronger commercial relationships, local capability, processing, knowledge, innovation and community, directed-reinvestment.
FROM SOURCING TO POSSIBILITY
Today, KAIA is beginning by connecting selected Amazonian ingredients with international food, beverage, nutrition, wellness and product-development markets.
The larger ambition is to explore what becomes possible when Amazonian biodiversity meets knowledge at origin, science and technology, product development and international markets.
WHAT COMES NEXT
There is already knowledge. There are already relationships. There are already extraordinary ingredients and ideas. Now the work is to connect them responsibly with new markets, new partners and new forms of innovation.

NEXT
What we’re building
Research. Preservation. Processing. Product development. Market access. Community-directed reinvestment. Innovation closer to origin.
FROM ORIGIN TO POSSIBILITY.
KAIA works from origin outward, understanding what makes an ingredient distinctive, keeping its identity visible and connecting it with meaningful product-development and commercial opportunities.
01 — UNDERSTAND THE ORIGIN
KNOW THE INGREDIENT BEFORE MOVING IT.
We begin with place, people, cultivation, processing and knowledge at origin — because these help define what makes an ingredient distinctive.
02 — QUALIFY & TRACE
KEEP ITS IDENTITY VISIBLE.
We connect origin with producer, lot, processing information and supporting documentation, while understanding the specifications professional buyers need.
03 — EXPLORE THE POSSIBILITY
ASK WHAT IT CAN BECOME.
We explore how an ingredient’s sensory and technical characteristics can translate into relevant applications, formulations and new product ideas.
04 — CONNECT TO MARKET
BUILD THE RIGHT COMMERCIAL PATHWAY.
We connect selected ingredients and new possibilities with product developers, R&D teams, manufacturers and international partners.
